New construction, but still-humid central Indiana summers
Whitestown has been Indiana's fastest-growing municipality since 2010, more than tripling in population between the 2010 and 2020 census counts, so most of its housing stock, especially in the Anson master-planned community that began development in 2005, is recent construction. Even new homes need properly sized attic and crawlspace ventilation to handle central Indiana's humid summers.
A handful of older farm-era properties remain
Before its recent growth, Whitestown was a small agricultural settlement of well under 1,000 residents for most of its history, and the few remaining older farmhouses from that era can have crawlspace or basement moisture problems that a newer Anson-area home would never develop.
